The hospital management system, whole.
The hospital's own working surface, and the largest of the four. A patient is registered here, given a bed, billed, discharged and followed up here; the store, the duty roster, the vendors, the laboratory, the audit trail and the staff roll are all here too. If a task belongs to the establishment rather than to one clinician or one patient, it is in Dock.
Who uses it: Hospital and nursing-home staff — front desk, wards, pharmacy, stores, accounts, administration
What is on the screen today.
Every line below is a screen that exists, grouped as the module groups it. The count comes from the same build register the published status page reads.
95 of 96 serving today CBS Dock is 99% complete against its own screen list. The whole of it, screen by screen with the testing protocol, is in the user guide.
Overview
- Facility dashboard The facility's day at a glance, over one aggregate read and no writes
Front desk
- Patient registration Register, MRN, duplicate detection, consent rows. Four fields the design draws have no column yet: language, next of kin, insurance, Care claim code
- Patient index -- search, list, edit, export Read, search, the facility list, correction of a registered record, and CSV export
- Scan & Share -- ABDM OPD registration The patient scans the counter HIP QR in their ABHA app; CBS matches or registers them and returns an OPD token to the app. Built against the ABDM v3 documentation; live once the facility's HIP registration and gateway credentials are configured
- OPD token display Desk calls the next token per room; the waiting-room TV opens a rotatable unguessable link and shows token numbers and rooms only, never a name; refreshes itself
- Billing -- OP, IP, pharmacy Invoice, lines, part-payments, discount, auto-lock, dashboard filters. Money is integer paise on the wire
- Help desk The hospital's register of complaints, problems and feedback from patients and families (Care, CR-25), staff (Jalpa) and the counter; status as append-only events, each emailed to the customer; assign; one-action escalation to CBS carrying only the fault; the administrator sets the ticket prefix (Jalpa desk, Prong B)
Operations
- Ward board and bed management Wards, beds, occupancy, snapshots, device pairing
- Admission Admit, assign bed, transfer
- In-patient census Census and summary, on a screen of its own
- Discharge -- the operational half Screen built. The endpoint can be called once and never re-read or amended -- needs GET and PATCH on the discharge record
- Admission history By number, open-for-patient, the facility's history list, and CSV export
- Follow-up desk and reminders Overdue and summary live, and the appointment reminder is emitted on the event spine
- Prescription register Create, the active list, and the facility's register with a medication search
- Appointment desk Slots, next-free, book, reschedule, cancel
- Incoming appointment requests Requests triaged, then scheduled or declined with a reason. A request is not an appointment until the slot engine schedules it
- Formulary Search, stock flag, discontinue, formula-injection guard
- Formulary import Template columns, import, batch history, on a screen of its own
- Consumable inventory The hospital's own consumable store, on a ledger separate from the shop's — ruled 2026-09-11. Issues to a ward, expiry, reconciliation
- Vendors and purchase orders Vendors, purchase orders and goods receipts. A receipt writes the store's movements in one transaction, validated before any line lands
- Laundry and linen Linen by type with a par level per ward; collect soiled, send in-house or to a vendor, receive back, issue clean. Shortfall, condemned and infected batches tracked; a vendor's bill is pieces × rate, per cycle and per month. Clean stock is the DK-07 store's own ledger
- Buildings and upkeep Equipment register with make, serial, warranty and maintenance contract; planned servicing for buildings, plant and equipment raised as a job on its due date; repair requests from any ward or desk tracked to completion; electricity, water, generator and medical gas meters
- Safety register Fire drills with who took part, what was found and the actions; guards on duty by shift with sign-in and sign-out; daily CCTV checks; tonight's on-call list and emergency numbers
Diagnostics
- Lab orders Raise, track and cancel a lab order. The ordering half of the specimen lifecycle; no result is shown here because at this stage the specimen has not been taken
- Specimen collection The collection round, with recollection recorded rather than overwriting the original
- Result entry Entry, verification and retraction. The API withholds a value until it is verified, and the screen says why the cell is empty
- Laboratory equipment and QC Analysers taken from the DK-50 equipment register, with calibration and servicing due dates; a daily quality-control log per analyser with pass, warning or fail computed and a Levey-Jennings trend; a failed run is reported, never a block on result entry
- Reagents, outside lab and workload Reagent and kit lots with lot number, expiry and opened-on date, in the laboratory's own ledger; samples sent to an outside laboratory and their reports back, whose values go through DK-42 verification; workload by test and by technician from the result register
- Test menu and signers The hospital's own tests and studies with LOINC, sample, turnaround and price; CBS suggests a starter menu and surveyed low, typical and high prices, and nothing applies until the administrator adopts it; who may sign which reports; accession prefixes, collection places, the culture panel and whether optometry is on
- Sample reception A collected sample is received at the bench and given its accession number, or rejected with a reason; the tube label prints from the browser with a barcode
- Bench worklist Received samples by bench, STAT first; values entered here wait for a second person to verify them on DK-42
- Report sign-out Verified results signed by a person on the hospital's signatory list; the report prints on the letterhead with the sample collection record and only verified values
- Culture and sensitivity Preliminary and final culture reports: organisms, colony count and S, I or R against the hospital's own antibiotic panel
- Imaging worklist X-ray, ultrasound, CT and MRI orders, performed here or referred out; CBS keeps the report and a link, not the images
- Imaging report The report written and signed by a listed signatory and printed on the letterhead; an AI triage is never the report
- Ultrasound Form F Form F recorded before an obstetric ultrasound is performed, and the monthly register
Clinical oversight
- Clinical handovers Endpoints mounted and role-guarded — doctor and nurse
- SOS and alert desk Events and notification live, and the facility's own alert queue with the counts behind the desk tiles
- AI referral approvals The treating doctor approves or declines an AI-suggested referral; one marked critical goes to the administrator; with no decision in 15 minutes it is deemed approved and recorded as such. The administrator decides whether the hospital uses AI suggestions at all (VKG, 2026-10-09)
Documents
- Discharge summary print Renders as PDF on the facility letterhead; nine locales, refusing rather than printing boxes. Printed from Dock
- Consent forms and certificates Prints the facility's own wording, and a marked preliminary draft where it has none. MTP and sterilisation get no draft — the prescribed text governs, and the form says so
Charity
- Sponsored treatment and assistance Applications for help with a bill, made by the patient or family or by staff on their behalf, decided by the administrator with a written reason; an approved case is sponsored under a case code, and the sponsor sees only the code, the condition category and the amounts, never the patient's name, number or photograph; sponsorship is credited to the DK-05 bill as a sponsor payment. With the patient's recorded consent, withdrawable at any time, the administrator lists the case on the public sponsors' corner as sex, age, procedure and cost
- Donors and charity fund Donor register with consent to be named and PAN held encrypted; a numbered receipt on the facility letterhead for every gift, carrying no tax wording of CBS's own; general, corpus and restricted funds with gifts in, spending out against DK-60 case codes, and the balance per fund; overspending warns and is recorded, never refused
- CSR partners, donor report and donor wall CSR agreements with their dates, renewal notice and the camps, beds and equipment they fund; a yearly report to donors on the letterhead from DK-61 totals and DK-60 case codes, with no patient identity; a public donor wall in the DISA design adopted from Aayojana -- today's donors first, tiers, occasion and 'in the name of', sponsors listed separately -- reached by a rotatable unguessable link, listing only donors who agreed to be named, and a former patient only after their treatment has closed
- Sponsor pledges and the sponsors' corner A public sponsors' corner at /sponsors lists consented, approved cases by budget, as sex, age, procedure and cost, with no name or photograph; a sponsor pledges for one case or several and chooses the Donor Trust or the hospital; the pledge reaches this inbox, and is marked paid only when the money is credited to the patient's bill through DK-60. The sponsor pays the hospital or the Trust directly; no online payment is taken on the corner yet
ID cards & access
- ID cards Plastic CR80 photo cards for staff, associates, the administration team and trainees on placement; every field checked against the card layout with the exact overflow and a shortened form the person chooses; the person's consent to what is printed recorded before print; lost, revoked, expired and reissued cards keep their history
- Temporary passes Adhesive labels for OPD patients (token number, never a diagnosis), conference delegates, external invigilators and visitors, checked against the label layout, with the person's consent recorded before print
- Print cards and label sheets A front-and-back CR80 PDF batch for a card printer and A4 label sheets (3x8 or 2x7, part-used sheets supported) in nine scripts; finalising a batch issues its cards
- Access areas and readers Operation theatre, laboratory, wards, records room, vault and each ambulance van as an area; card readers registered per area with a hashed, rotatable key; an emergency open-for-all-staff switch the administrator sets with a reason
- Access grants Per person and per area, with an optional time window, granted and withdrawn by the administrator with a reason
- Access log Every card presented at every reader, allowed or refused, refused first; who opened which ambulance van and when
Canteen (MANI)
- MANI connection Connect this facility to its MANI canteen: connect code -> request -> the canteen approves -> key claimed and kept encrypted on the server; canteen name, payment module, meal cut-offs, today's menu and the canteen's statement. Inventory is MANI's (14.1, 14.5)
- Kitchen orders, indents and diet orders Orders by ward and bed; at each cut-off one MANI indent per ward per meal with diets by bed code; dispatch received with shortages; delivered to the bed (who, when) and charged to the DK-05 bill at MANI's price or paid at the counter, nothing when non-paid (14.2, 14.3, 14.6)
- Ward meals and intake Per delivered meal: what was served, how much was eaten and fluids in ml; daily summary; poor intake flagged after two under-half meals in a row, here and on MD-01 (14.4)
Administration
- Users and roles Invite by Google address, list, change role, turn access on and off. The last active administrator cannot be turned off
- Staff records Employment and fitness for duty — joining, confirmation, exit, who to telephone, and whether somebody may be worked long hours. The only screen holding staff health information, administrator-only; the roster is told that a restriction exists and never why
- Registrations and training Nursing, medical and pharmacy council registrations and the pharmacy licence with their expiry, raised on the screen's Alerts card N days ahead; BLS, fire safety and infection-control certificates with their expiry
- Doctor onboarding Invite a doctor or receive an application, check it, decide. The administrator decides; CBS records (ruled 2026-10-09)
- Doctor credentials Each doctor's entry on the credentials wall and whether the administrator has checked it
- Invite a doctor Sends a doctor the hospital's join page, /medico/join/{facility}
- Onboarding case review One application: what was submitted, what was checked, and the administrator's decision, on an append-only trail
- Onboarding pattern & specialties The hospital's own onboarding pattern and specialty list
- Facility profile -- name, address, letterhead Registry, letterhead block, GSTIN and registration number
- Departments Department is on neither the user nor the token
- Integrations -- FHIR, ABDM Both clients exist; neither has a configuration screen
- Device estate Bedside devices: pairing, unpairing and the boot lookup, on real data. Home devices register but cannot yet be listed
- Support desk Ticket desk, SLA sweep, notifications
- Platform desk The CBS team's desk on the DK-33 ticket model: CB- tickets from Jalpa on cbshealth.in, from staff and escalated from hospital desks with the link back; status events emailed to the customer; technical tickets open a GitHub issue with no contact details, logged as skipped when GITHUB_ISSUES_TOKEN is unset (Jalpa desk, Prong A)
- Sign-up requests Requests from /signup on cbshealth.in -- a hospital, nursing home or clinic, a doctor, or a household with the CBS Attendant -- numbered SU-, acknowledged to the applicant by email and sent to the CBS team; contacted, onboarded or declined recorded as append-only events; promo code and referral kept on the request (Pancha block 9)
- Server management (SMP) Server Management Protocols, for the CBS team: where the data and compute are, database storage, accounts added, login accounts, records per account, connections, memory, concurrency and instances, each against a named capacity, read live; at 65% the operator is mailed for more storage or bandwidth, reminded daily, cleared below 60%, every step an append-only event (VKG 2026-10-23)
- System and error log The ring buffer, and the delivery failures that survive a restart. Says on the page that its buffer is one worker's memory
- Duty roster The week, with leave beside the shifts. Says who was expected, never who attended
- Staff attendance and leave Attendance marked per shift beside the DK-10 roster, so expected and attended sit side by side; leave applied for, decided by the administrator, and balanced against the facility's own entitlements. Leave stays in DK-10's table; no health reason is stored beyond the leave type
- Doctor payments Terms, payouts and what is owed. The whole run; a doctor sees only their own on MD-05
- Pay and benefits Monthly pay with PF, ESI and professional tax computed from the rates the facility enters -- CBS ships none; pay slips on the facility's letterhead; gratuity and other benefits accrued per person from the facility's own formula. Doctor payouts stay in DK-09
- Staff letters The letter book: inter-departmental memos, five appointment letters and the payroll start note, numbered in the hospital's own format, approved along its own chain, issued on the letterhead with a kept checksum, and accepted on a date. CBS suggests the patterns; the administrator adopts them. Wording is the hospital lawyer's, through format vetting
- Draft a letter Blanks filled from the staff, pay and doctor records, each naming its record; pay suggested from an Indian market survey, never below the state minimum wage, and never filled without a click
- Payroll start New joiners: whether each is on the monthly pay sheet, paid through DK-09 instead, or waiting on a payroll start note; an approved note enters its salary structure in DK-56
- Finance metrics to Vitta The hospital's own money — billed, collected, owed, by category and by payer. Reports and sends nothing outward
- Limits and approvals The administrator sets per-role limits for discount, refund and write-off and the amount above which a named second person approves; held requests wait in a queue; every grant and refusal recorded. Off until set; the administrator is never held. Refund and write-off approvals are recorded decisions -- DK-05 has no refund or write-off money path yet
- Audit log Ten route guards and a read permission, with a screen over them
- Navigation policy A hospital edits its own rail. Replaces the CBS default per destination; an empty role list turns one off for everybody
- Policies and compliance The establishment's policies and what CBS observed. It records and reports and does not block: the administrator decides, and CBS keeps the account of what was decided
- Grievances Raised by any member of staff and read only by the person who raised it, the person handling it and the administrator; never shown on anyone else's list; every read and every act recorded
- My profile Profile reads; no password to change, by design -- staff use Google
- Settings One Settings page for every shell: text size in four steps applied on every page from this device (x1 to x1.5, multiplies, never clamps), language per account when signed in and per device otherwise, Jalpa voice switches with what this browser supports, Refresh the app (service workers and cache cleared, settings kept), account and Sign out, About with the credit line; a gear in every top bar (Pancha block 11, JALPA-VOICE-SETTINGS 1)
- Help Answers all three modes. The top-bar help icon used to 404 on every Dock and Care page
Getting in
- Sign in OAuth2, Google SSO, rate limiting, lockout
- Bedside and home collection (Dock app) The phone edition of DK-41 for the collection round: samples waiting to be collected, then collector, qualification, place type and place; the time is the server's; refused with the missing facts named, and kept on the screen when the phone is offline so it can be sent again
- Jalpa app Jalpa as an installable web app at /jalpa (Android, iPhone, Windows, Mac; $0): the full-screen conversation with page finding, voice in four languages, tickets, ticket lookup and ask-later; own manifest, icons and a service worker caching the shell only; offline page says what needs a connection (global rule 27, Pancha block 10)
- Abhijna app Abhijna as an installable web app at /abhijna: public Verify of a CBS card or pass number (state, facility, validity; name and role only for a current staff or trainee card; rate-limited; card QR now opens it), Authenticator for signed-in staff via the #pair hand-over, Generator links to DK-83..85 and Reader links to DK-86..88 by role (global rule 27, Pancha block 10)
- Desk mail and GitHub routing Jalpa's formal email for every ticket with an email, in the ticket's language, from and reply-to tech@dharmaposhanam.in over Gmail SMTP; recorded as mail_skipped while the app password is unset; tech@ copied on every new ticket; technical issues assigned to CBS_DESK_GITHUB_ASSIGNEE or labelled needs-admin (JALPA-DESK 7.3-7.5, Pancha block 10)
- Jalpa interactive voice With Interactive voice on, Jalpa speaks each reply and listens when it finishes, in te, kn, hi or en; skip, back, repeat, cancel and stop listening by voice; stops after six seconds of silence and says Tap the mic to answer; take me to Settings in nine languages; mic hidden with the dictation hint where the browser has no recognition; browser speech only, $0 (Pancha block 11, JALPA-VOICE-SETTINGS 2.1-2.2)
- Fill by voice A Fill by voice button on registration, appointment booking, the bill line and the payment, the counter sale and the grievance form: Jalpa asks each field, parses amounts, dates, choices, phones and emails, suggests patient names from this hospital's index, reads each value back and ends with Check the form and press Save; it never presses Save or Submit (Pancha block 11, JALPA-VOICE-SETTINGS 2.3-2.4)
- Hands-free voice on every page With Interactive voice on, Jalpa takes commands on any app page: open a screen by its name or number (en, hi, te, kn), next patient on the token board, new receipt and new invoice open the form, show today's orders, read the total, read the last entry, next, back, repeat, stop listening; listens again after each answer, pauses in the background and on stop listening; a large Listening sign whenever the mic is open; never saves by voice (Pancha block 12, JALPA-VOICE-SETTINGS 5.1-5.2, 5.5)
- Passkeys and spoken step-up Staff add a passkey in Settings (face, fingerprint or screen lock) and sign in with it; a role change, access on or off and the audit export ask for a passkey or the authenticator's six digits, which may be spoken aloud, then hold a 15-minute window; a person with neither proceeds and is asked to enrol; voice is never a biometric; every step audited (Pancha block 12, JALPA-VOICE-SETTINGS 5.3, rule 23)
- Stay signed in on the phone; scheduled sign-off On a phone or the installed app CBS stays signed in until sign-out, refreshing silently; computers and tablets keep the 7-day limit; Settings offers sign-off Never, Weekly or Monthly, enforced at refresh with a plain message; sign-out and access off end the session at once or at the next refresh (Pancha block 12, JALPA-VOICE-SETTINGS 5.4)
Dock does not overrule the person who is legally responsible for the patient. It suggests, warns and audits; the administrator decides and CBS records what they decided. A rule that would block a clinician mid-emergency is a rule that gets the software switched off.
True of Dock, and of no other module
- Every screen is scoped to a facility. A clerk at one nursing home cannot open another's patients, and that is enforced by the API rather than by hiding a menu item.
- The administrator decides and CBS records. Dock suggests, warns and audits; it does not overrule the person who is legally responsible for the patient.
What it costs
Prices for Dock are quoted per facility, at 90% of the market rate for a comparable product, with more features.

One record underneath, and every product a door onto it.
A patient registered at the front desk in Dock is the same patient the clinician opens in Medico, the same record the family reads in Care, and the same patient the pharmacy serves at Counter. No module holds its own copy.
The doctor's own tool for the day's events, for communication with the hospital, the care team and the patient, and for AI-assisted consultation — the queue, the consultation, the prescription, investigations and their results, the ward round, the discharge narrative and the earnings statement, carried across every establishment they practise at.
FeaturesThe patient's own door: appointments, medicines, the reports and bills the hospital has released to them, the people looking after them, and the check-in, fall and SOS from the device at home.
FeaturesThe dispensary — medicines, surgicals and other consumables: the sale, dispensing against a prescription, stock in and out, expiry, the credit book, the day book and the statutory registers a drug inspector asks for.
FeaturesThe bedside device for a patient at home or on a ward. When it raises an alarm (SOS, a fall, the call bell, a missed medicine and more), it rings loud on the phone or computer of each person who follows it.
FeaturesThe laboratory, from the order to the signed report: the test menu and orders, bedside and home collection, a second person's verification of every value, daily quality control, reagent lots with their expiry, samples sent to an outside laboratory, and results reaching the doctor in Medico and the patient in Care.
FeaturesSee CBS Dock against your own way of working.
Thirty minutes, your own case, and an honest answer about whether it fits the way your establishment already runs.
